INTERNET MAINTENANCE ANNOUNCEMENT

IT IS URGENT THAT YOU DO NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET FROM MARCH 31st
23:59 GMT (11:59 PM) UNTIL 00:01 GMT (12:01 AM) APRIL 2nd.

It's that time again. As many of you know, each year the Internet must
be closed down for a 24 hour period of time in order to receive
maintenance, or a "Tune Up" if you will.

Many dead links on the World Wide Web will be removed, as well as ftp
links that are no longer used. Lost email will also be removed from the
system at this time. The White House is very interested in this part of
the project.

In addition to the normal maintenance to be completed this year, we will
also be using new high pressure information jets to clear out the
bottlenecks that have plagued the internet so greatly this past year.

Although the down time for maintenance will be an inconvenience for many
people, you will find this will allow for a much more efficient and
faster responding internet.

This year, the "Tune Up" will occur from 23:59 GMT (11:59 PM) on March
31st until 00:01 GMT (12:01 AM) on April 2nd. During that 24 hour
period, dozens of powerful Internet bots at key locations around the
globe will simultaneously scan the Internet and complete the desired
maintenance jobs wherever they may be required.

To help protect any valuable data you may have on the Internet from

possible corruption, we highly recommend you take the following steps
before this 24 hour maintenance period begins:

1. Disconnect all terminals and LANs from the Internet.

2. Disconnect all Internet servers from the Internet.

3. Refrain from connecting any computer, or any other Internet

connection device, to the Internet in any way.

Note: The term "other Internet connection device" includes such devices

as WebTV.

Again, we understand the inconvenience this will cause many people. And

for that, we apologize. However, the great increase in Internet
performance you will experience after this short period of maintenance
will far outweigh any problems it will cause.

This message comes to you from the Internet via your Internet Service

Provider.

From Pastor Wes's Blog

A Man with a Heart for God

motwblog

In March of 2005 Lions Gate Baptist Church began hosting an annual conference for men, The Men of the Word Conference. This year we had it fit in with our overall church theme of “a heart for God.” We host the conference at Camp Squeah’s facilities near Hope, BC. It has become a highlight of the year for our men and men from churches as far away as Prince George, BC. This year we had our largest attendance yet; 58 men representing 9 different churches:

  • Anchor Baptist Church ~ Burnaby, BC
  • Berean Baptist Church ~ Quesnel, BC
  • Greater Vancouver Baptist Church ~ Vancouver, BC
  • Metro Baptist Church ~ Burnaby, BC
  • New Testament Baptist Church ~ Abbotsford, BC
  • Okanagan Valley Baptist Church ~ Vernon, BC
  • Spruceland Baptist Church ~ Prince George, BC
  • Urban Community Baptist Church ~ Vancouver, BC

and , of course, Lions Gate Baptist Church ~ North Vancouver, BC

We were privileged to have Dr. Eldon Martens as our guest speaker. Dr. Martens is the author of, The Steps of a Good Man, a book that is printed by Striving Together Publications, a ministry of Lancaster Baptist Church. His teaching was on the responsibility of the husband to meet the needs of his wife, as well as some teaching on how to be a godly man. We also had lots of fun with a 3-on-3 basketball tourney and some time in the loft game room. The fellowship was good and the teaching challenging and helpful. Praise the Lord for a great conference!! Below are a few pictures taken during the conference.

A Man with a Heart for GOD

At 4:30 a.m. I picked up my son David, and we head south to the 4th Annaul Men of the Word Conference.
Stopping in Quesnel, to pick up Pastor Andrew Baduria then traveling on the Men's Retreat.

Pastor Wes Hutchens does a great job in hosting this men's meeting. This year speaker was Dr. Eldon Martens, from West Coast Baptist College.

From left to right, myself, Dr. Eldon, Pastor Baduria and David.

Preparing Hearts for Friend Day - Texas Style

It has been great building up to Friend Day - Texas Style. I have been preparing our folks with these four messages.

One man who was carried by his four friends. Working together we can bring others to Christ

Mark 2:3-5

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

One man who was changed by Christ is now told to go to his friend and tell them.

Mark 5:19

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

One man who prayed for his friends and the Lord bless him greatly.

Job 42:10

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

One man bringing his friend to Christ, personally.

John 1:44-46

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

This week, I am preaching on that ‘friend’ who is closer then a brother.

Proverbs 18:24

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

If you live in the PG area, come and bring a friend. We would love to introduce you and them to the LORD Jesus Christ.

Pray for us here at Spruceland Baptist Church, Thanks.

Losing the Loonie

Will we be losing the Canada 'loonie'(dollar) for a world wide currency?

Here is a snip from Joel C. Rosenberg

Reuters news wire: "U.N. PANEL SAYS WORLD SHOULD DITCH DOLLAR."

"A U.N. panel will next week recommend that the world ditch the dollar as its reserve currency in favor of a shared basket of currencies, a member of the panel said on Wednesday, adding to pressure on the dollar," the story noted. "Currency specialist Avinash Persaud, a member of the panel of experts, told a Reuters Funds Summit in Luxembourg that the proposal was to create something like the old Ecu, or European currency unit, that was a hard-traded, weighted basket. Persaud, chairman of consultants Intelligence Capital and a former currency chief at JPMorgan, said the recommendation would be one of a number delivered to the United Nations on March 25 by the U.N. Commission of Experts on International Financial Reform. 'It is a good moment to move to a shared reserve currency,' he said."

The "Euro" is the model many are looking to, in part because 20% of the world's foreign exchange reserves are already held in euros. Last year, the EU celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the creation of the "euro."

These are curious developments given that scholars of Bible prophecy have long noted that according to the Scriptures, in the "last days" the world will see the emergence of an entirely new international financial architecture, complete with a single common global currency created and mandated by the leaders of Europe.

The Bible indicates that eventualoly no one on earth will be able to engage in commerce without "buying in" to the new cashless system. The prophecy is found in Revelation 13:16-17, which reads: "And he [the world leader that emerges from a revived Europe] causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one can buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name."

Cynics and skeptics have long dismissed such talk as the province of "religious nuts" and "prophecy buffs." But the discussion is now being advanced by major world leaders. It's too soon to say where this will all lead, but these are certainly developments worth watching.

Calvinism - Theology for the Hard Hearted

article by Chris Wiloit

Calvinism - Theology for the Hard Hearted

I am often amazed and dismayed at how some Christians are so willing to put their faith in this spurious theology of Calvinism.

Or as Paul would say “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.”

Paul was dealing with salvation by works here in Galatians, but salvation by eternal decree is just as bad. Either of these false gospels can produce a hard hearted and perverted form of Christianity, one that troubles true Christians.

Focusing on works for salvation can cause people to be lifted up in pride and separate themselves from “lowly sinners.” Focusing on an eternal decree can also harden hearts in that it produces an “elitist” mentality among believers. Either of these false extreme views are outright perversions of the gospel.

The true gospel focuses on the amazing gift of salvation offered to all from God that is obtained by simple belief, and sharing this amazing truth with all you encounter. The biblical picture of a lowly sinner accepting the free gift of salvation is the power of the Christian gospel.

It is the “good news” from God that should well up from our hearts with love and overflow abundantly on all we know and meet.

Was Saint Patrick A Baptist?

Was Saint Patrick A Baptist

The year of St. Patrick 's birth is variously assigned to the years 377 and 387, the latter being the more probable date. His original name is said to have been Succat Patricus, being the Roman appellative by which he was known. The exact place of his birth is uncertain. It was somewhere in Britain. In the sixteenth year of his age, while on his father's farm, with a number of others, he was seized and carried by a band of pirates into Ireland, and there sold to a petty chief. In his service he remained six years. At the expiration of this time he succeeded in escaping. He was "brought up in a Christian family in Britain, and the truth which saved him when a youthful slave in pagan Ireland was taught him in the godly home of Deacon Calpurnius, his father, and in the church of which he was a member and officer."

On his escape from Ireland he was twenty-one years of age. Being a stronger Christian the Lord soon called him back to Ireland as the missionary for that blinded country. About this time, or before it, a missionary named Coleman, established a church in Ireland. Some think that "in the south of Ireland, from some very remote period," "Christian congregations had existed." Usher puts Patrick's death at A.D. 493 - making his life a long and useful life, and his age, at the time of his death, over one hundred years. The Bellandists make his death earlier - A.D. 460. According to accounts of his Irish biographers, he, with his own hands, baptized 12,000
persons and founded 365 churches.

Within the last few years scholars have succeeded in stripping his history of much of the Romish fables. The more this has been done, the more he stands out as a Baptist.
1. At the time of St. Patrick the Romish church was only én embryo.

2. In St. Patrick's time the authority of the bishop of Rome was not generally recognized.

3. There is no history to sustain the Romish claim that Patrick was sent to Ireland by "Pope Celistine". Throughout his life Patrick acted wholly independent of Rome.

4. Patrick was a Baptist. -

(1) He baptized only professed believers.

(2) He baptized by only immersion. Dr. Catchcart says: "There is absolutely no evidence that any baptism but that of immersion of adult believers existed among the ancient Britons, in the first half of the fifth century, nor for a long time afterwards." In St. Patrick's "letter to Crocius" he describes some of the persons whom he immersed as "baptizedc captives," "baptized handmaidens of Christ," "baptized women distributed as rewards" and then as "baptized believers."

(3) In church government St. Patrick was a baptist. Though this appears in the note to this page, I will add proof to it. "Patrick founded 365 church-es and consecrated the same number of bishops, and ordained 3000 presbyters." "If we take the testimony of Nennius, St. Patrick placed a bishop in every church which he founded; and several presbyters after the example of the New Testament churches. Nor was the great number of bishops peculiar to St. Patrick's time; in the twelfth century St. Bernard tells us that in Ireland bishops are multiplied and changed...

(4) In independence of creeds, councils, popes and bishops Patrick was a Baptist. "Patrick recognized no authority in creeds, however venerable, nor in councils, though composed of several hundred of the highest ecclesiastics, and many of the most saintly men alive. He never quotes any canons and he never took part in making any, notwithstanding the pretended canons of forgers".

(5) In doctrine Patrick was a Baptist. He says Christ who "gave his life for thee is He who speaks to thee".

(6) In the later or Romish meaning of the term, there is no indication of Monastacism in Patrick 's writing or in the history of the first Irish church. "Monastacism, in the proper sense of the word, cannot be traced beyond the fourth century". Catchcart: "It is difficult to fix the date when the first monastery was established in Ireland. It is certain that Patrick was long in his grave before it took place."

Thus, first, Irish Monasteries were originated after Patrick's death; Thus, in only believer 's baptism;
in only immersion; in church government; in salvation by only the blood; in justification by faith only; in rejecting penance; in knowing nothing of transubstantiation; in giving both the bread and the wine to the laity; in being independent of Rome, St. Patrick was a Baptist and the first Irish churches knew nothing of priestly confession and priestly forgiveness; of extreme unction; of worship of images; of worship of Mary; of the intercession of Mary or of any departed saint; of purgatory; of persecution of opposers of the church - nothing of any of the Romish distinguishing peculiarities.

Were Patrick not turned to dust, and were the body able to hear and turn, he would turn over in his coffin at the disgrace on his memory from the Romish church claiming him as a Roman Catholic.

A Deceptive Plan

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."

"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their saviour."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."
So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."

"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."

"Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become

dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."
"Give them headaches too! "

"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."

"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences. "

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!"
"It will work!"

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!!

Does "BUSY" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?

Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY!

What is Recession?

This story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside. He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers. He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio. His eyes were weak, so he never watched television. But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs.
He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales. His sales and profit went up. He ordered more a more raw material and buns and sold more. He recruited more supporting staff to serve more customers. He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.

As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from college, joined his father.
Then something strange happened.

The son asked, "Dad, aren't you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?" The father replied, "No, but tell me about it." The son said, "The international situation is terrible.

The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times."
The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV. He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly. So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colorful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic. He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs. Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his Hotdog stand. And his sales started coming down rapidly and so did the profit.

The father said to his son, "Son, you were right". "We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time."

Moral of the Story: It's all in your MIND! And we actually FUEL this recession much more than we think.

Things Just Has to Get Better

Here is message from an old friend of many years. jeff

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE PREDICT MUST HAPPEN BEFORE THE WORLD GETS BETTER?

Revelation 21:1-8 - There will be no more pain and no more death. Now, what MUST HAPPEN before this new heaven and new earth will come into existence?

1. The Land of Israel must be re-established. Ez. 37:14.

Why is the re-establishment of Israel significant? In 70 AD. the Jews were dispersed throughout the world! There was no more Israel. People might laugh about this prophecy in 100 AD, 200, 300 / 1700, 1800, 1900 - but in 1948 the world quit laughing. God says, I am going to do this so you know that I the Lord have spoken – and He did! Who could have predicted 2,500 years ago how that would come to pass in the last days?

2. Ez. 37:21 - He says, before the world gets better, I am going to re-gather the Jews from all over the world where they have been scattered.

Since the Land has been re-established what has happened? Since 1948, we have been seeing the Jews re-gathered to this little spot in the Mid-East. With the constant attacks of Islam, Israel and those countries are in the news!

3. There must be a re-gathering of the Jews especially from one country the Bible calls "the land of the North."

Many scholars and I believe properly, interpret this to be Russia. The Russian Bear! There was nothing there to suggest a future world power when the prophets penned their words. Draw a line north of Jerusalem and you find Russia, the key player in the last days.

Jer. 31:8 "them" - Jewish people. And I love what God says! Russia is strong and it seems that no one can tell them what to do. Yet just as God demands, they gave up Jews to return to Israel. - Isaiah 43:6.

God brings them out of the North in great numbers! And it is significant that this was in particular in the 1990's. Why? Because we believe we believe we are living in the last days!

Jesus was asked the question, "What will be the sign of thy coming and of the end of the age (or world as we know it now)?" He gave them some characteristics, such as wars and rumors of wars. American bumper slogans include ones like "Coexist." I’d like these people to go tell Iran, North Korea, Russia, Venezuela and many more who hate America that you are thinking peace! In fact, people not long ago were saying, "peace, peace" because of that new relationship with Russia. Then we had the Gulf War, the World Trade Towers and lots of world unrest. Wars and rumors of wars!

As Jesus warned of pestilence and disease. AIDS is killing great populations of Africa. And with the increase of violent earthquakes, you think they are bad now, just wait until the Great Tribulation!

4. There must be the re-establishment of the European Nations. It has been called the re-unification of Europe.

Now that seems like it was predicted forever, at all through my lifetime by Bible teachers. Students of the Bible have been saying that before the last days or the world gets better, before there is a new heaven and a new earth, that the world power will shift back to the Old Roman Empire nations surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. You don’t have to be a deep thinker because it is very recent. You would have to be blind to miss the European Common Market.

Olive Tree Ministries sent a new article that adds recent insightful on this:

http://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox/11fecc1640a7a39a

5. And before the world gets better, there must be the re-building of the Babylonian philosophy.

When you read Rev. 17-18, you read about Mystery Babylon and Babylon the Great.

If you remember Genesis 11 and the tower of Babel. Do you know where the ancient city of Babylon was located? - IRAQ. How incredible as Iraq faced a lot of destruction that Saddam Hussein’s rebuilding of the old Babylon is quite a city to impress us today. Keep watching!

Do you know what the goal of Hussein was? He wanted to re-establish his nation as the financial empire of the world as it once was in ancient days. The Bible says there MUST be a re-establishment of this Babylonian philosophy in the last days! Let's ask ourselves, "Does that part of the world have what it takes to become a financial empire too?" Yes they do. They have oil.

But there is something else that the Bible says MUST happen before the world is going to get better.

6. There has to be that battle that all of us have heard about.

Scientists call it the battle of battles! The Last battle of the world! Some refer to a nuclear explosion or Holocaust. Millions and billions of people will be killed in the Battle of Armageddon!

The Bible predicts that this battle MUST take place before the world gets better. We find in Revelation 16 as the nations of the world converge on the Middle East. United Notions is already diving into the midst as the enemies are surrounding Israel. So we see what a distinct possibility that has been in recent years.

The Bible tells us who is coming to fight.

1. The Land of the North - Russia and her allies.

2. European Nations re-unite and send troops.

3. The Kings of the East will send their armies.

4. The Kings of the South will send their armies.

God says, before the world gets better, all of the armies of the world are going to send their forces to the Middle East and there is going to be a great battle like there never has been and BEFORE things get better!

You know, before our generation Bible speakers shared this and folks would laugh and say, "Why in the world would the armies of the world gather in that wasteland?" Not that they are great inventors but Islamic lands copy technology and go wild with it. Even if there were no Israel, we see the possibility for battle. Even if there were not a west to oppose, those countries do not get along well with each other. So then add the Jewish faith to the equation and the odds for war just went up a hundred times! So definitely, it is easier to see the chances for that war in our day. The same thing that took the armies of the world there can take them back again. It did once. It has again. Or we might say, basically, they are already there.

We went there to protect Kuate from being swallowed up by Iraq. Is that right? Or we went there to protect our oil interests because we knew whoever controlled that oil would be strong to control the oil prices in the world? Maybe it was just about our economy all along. Furthermore, that is why the other nations were interested too. So here we are, having depleted our finances from when we were strong and as our factories were still largely in America. I ask you, how are we going to jump-start a country that still has our same opulent problems, our factories retreating and less strength than ever to make anything right? I don’t think we’ve learned anything from all our failures here.

We all see that Revelation 16 comes before Revelation 21. The Battle of Armageddon comes before the new heavens and the new earth. For example, Daniel says that great time of tribulation is going to come upon this world, being a time that Jesus said like there NEVER has been and NEVER will be! The days of Nero were bad enough. Can things get worse than the French Inquisition? The Jews of World War II must surely have thought that things cannot ever get any worse. Jesus says looking into the future said, if those days had not been shortened no flesh would be saved! We know in Revelation that one-fourth of the world's population is going to be killed in a short time. Somewhat later, one-third of the people left will be killed. Do the math and that adds up to half the world of people.

Now let me ask you, who will be in the greater danger zone to feel the fists of the enemies of the world, like Brazil compared to America?

Now, that's negative. Are we saying things are going to get worse and worse before they will ever get better? Right! That is what we are saying because that is what God is saying. They ARE going to get worse before they get better, but THANK GOD, one day they ARE going to get better!

7. We know the Battle of Armageddon is going to take place after another event. The Rapture!

Now someone says that sounds extreme, to say people will be taken alive out of this world by the Lord. Well, suppose we were at a baseball game and you asked a friend, "How much would you bet that this player is going to hit a homerun?" Not much! But suppose you added, "This player has hit over 300 home runs in a row. What would you bet?" A lot of people would say, "I’d bet all that I’ve got!"

Well, that’s the scenario that you have with God’s Word. You have over 300 prophecies, predicted in advance, fulfilled precisely. Contrast that to the Koran so say Mohammed would go to Mecca. It came true, yes, but it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. All Mohammed had to do to make it to fulfill was to go to Mecca. That is hardly impressive to call that prophecy. Every religious book in the world falls short. Every one! Every one! Prophecies in the Book of Mormon did NOT come true. And one prophecy in error from any so-called scripture excludes it from being the Word of God. The Bible has never had that problem with one single false prediction. So when the Bible says there is going to be a rapture, well, laugh if you want to but I’m going to sit up and take notice. And when the Bible says there is going to day of accountability, that you and I will stand and give account before the all-knowing, holy God, then I’m going to bet everything that I have that I had better get ready to meet God. And that’s what I want everyone I love to do as well. Get ready!

The Bible says, before the seven-year period which has never been like anything before is this event, the rapture (I Thes. 4:13 – 18). What "comfort"? Before the seven-year period comes, all those who believe in Him are going to be taken OUT and UP. We are not going to be here during that time period. We are going to come back as an army behind our Leader, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Is that consistent with other Bible teaching? Hebrews 9:27 - In other words, we are going to die and stand before Almighty God. He is a God great enough to make and keep His Word to the single letter without any kind of apology for error. He knows all! And the Bible says that every one of us shall give an account of himself before God.

The saved are going to enter the new heavens and the new earth. The lost are going to be cast into the lake of fire. Jesus said, there is a hell to avoid. Where are you planning to go? What have you done with the Son of God?

If you are not a believer on that day of the rapture, you will be left behind!

Before the end of the world is the rapture, the tribulation period, the millennium, then the new heavens and the new earth. Things are going to get much worse before they get better! THANK GOD, Jesus was asked what the signs would be and He gave them some signs. We don't know the day nor the hour. That is why it is possible for you to be one day TOO LATE! You could say, "I am going to believe tomorrow." And if the rapture takes place before that time, then you will miss it.

Not only did the Old Testament prophets predict these things must happen before the world gets better, but it also predicts with exact precision that Jesus Christ would come the first time. And He DID come! Bethlehem, so place else! To describe with so much detail the cross when on one had invented that method of torture yet. And the day Jesus Christ hung on the cross, 33 Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled, all written at least 500 years before He came into this world. Do you know what the odds of 33 prophecies are for being fulfilled in one day? - A mathematical monstrosity!

Why believe in Jesus Christ? He is the only religious leader who lived, died, and came forth out of the grave three days later. If I’m going to go with a spiritual leader, I’m going to go with the Winner! Every other leader who has passed from this life has a grave for where his body is.

When Thomas saw the evidence of the living crucified Christ resurrected and alive, He exclaimed, "My Lord and my God!" If you know Jesus in the same way as His disciples, you are right. And if you know Him not only as Lord and the true God but also as "my" Lord and "my" God in a personal way, then you are as Jesus Christ said in the next verse. Blessed forever! (John 20:28-29).

A man feels like he can take care of himself while he is breathing. But there is one thing that our technology cannot stop - death! The death rate is still one per person and that includes you and me.

So if I am going to believe in anybody, I am going to believe in someone who has the POWER OVER DEATH! Jesus came out of that grave the third day! He predicted that He would come back alive to raise Himself from the dead and He did! (John 2:18-22).

Thomas looked and believed! And you can have your sins forgiven. How? Through believing and trusting in Him with all your heart.

Why did the Son of God go to the cross? He never sinned. He was virgin born so He did not inherit the sin nature that you and I have. Therefore He did not have to die, but He chose to die for our sins.

Romans 6:23 - "gift." What's a gift? Somebody else buys and pays for it and says, "Here, I want to give this to you for free and all you have to do is to receive it!"

And the only reason you might not receive it is because you refuse to believe, you simply refuse to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and take your chance on the consequences. Your fault! "Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe! Sin has left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow."

Now, let me ask you a question. Are you an earnest believer in Jesus Christ? Revelation 21 says things are definitely going to get better. No more pain, suffering, or death, and the former things are passed away. But the fearful and unbelieving are afraid of what their friends are going to say. They are afraid to give up their sinful lifestyles. AFRAID!

I'll tell you what. I got LESS afraid of what my friends were going to say when I got MORE afraid of the consequences of the Lake of Fire! I would think they would be more afraid of the Tribulation period because it will be a time like they never saw before.

But one day I accepted the gift of God. - Rom. 10:9-10, 13. Whosoever is whoever to mean anybody. So it means you, it means you, it means you.

Are you ready for the New World Order. It’s in the news! Listen to Henry Kissinger, the leaders of England, David Rockerfeller! President Bush spoke of a New World Order over 200 times!

- But are you ready for God’s New World? It is coming too!

What needs to happen before things get better? The rapture, the great tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, the millennium. We see the Israel re-established, the Jews returning, Russia’s experience of the brain-drain by giving up so many Jews, the re-unification of Europe taking place, and the armies of the world will re-gather in the Middle East. It's all being put together.

This might be God’s final call to you. These might be your last words. What will you have to say to God? Trust Him today!

And believers, considering how serious our national and world conditions are, remember Whose trustworthy plan and Word we are trusting in. We can have a viable, healthy concern but we cannot truly worry if we are trusting in Him.

From my inbox - USMC FA-18 fighter

In addition to communicating with the local Air Traffic Control facility, all aircraft in the Persian Gulf AOR are required to give the Iranian Air Defense Radar (military) a ten minute 'heads up' if they will be transiting Iranian airspace.

This is a common procedure for commercial aircraft and involves giving them your call sign, transponder code, type aircraft, and points of origin and destination.

I just flew with a guy who overheard this conversation on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz while flying from Europe toDubai . It's too good not to pass along.

The conversation went like this...

Iranian Air Defense Radar: 'Unknown aircraft you are in Iranian airspace. Identify yourself.'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States aircraft. I am in Iraqi airspace.'

Air Defense Radar: 'You are in Iranian airspace. If you do not depart our airspace we will launch interceptor aircraft!'

Aircraft: 'This is a United States Marine Corps FA-18 fighter. Send 'em up, I'll wait!'

Air Defense Radar: (no response ... total silence)

The Rest of the Story - Paul Harvey

I grew up listening to Paul Harvey in East Texas, a student at John Tyler High School. I would eat my egg sandwich in my car so I could listen to Paul Harvey's News and Comments.

I enjoyed his radio talent, but that is where it ends.

As I understand it, Paul Harvey was a 7th Day Adventist.

From his own words, I understand that Paul H. didn't know the God of the Bible.

Which is sad. Watch the video and read Paul Harvey's comments, and wept for his lost soul.

A Letter From God
read by Paul Harvey

Paul Harvey says everybody is a child of God.
My Dear Children...believe me, that is all of you.

Paul Harvey says God used evolution in creation.

"I consider myself a pretty patient guy. I mean, look at the Grand Canyon. It took millions of years to get it right. And about evolution-- boy, nothing is slower than designing that whole Darwinian thing to take place cell by cell and gene by gene."

Paul Harvey says God didn't author the Bible and you can't trust it.
"Every one of your religions claims... that it's bible was written personally by me, that all the other bibles are man made. Oh, me! How do I ever begin to put a stop to such utter nonsense...I hate to break it to you, but I don't write...so all of your books, including those bibles, were written by men and women. They were inspired men and women...they also made mistakes here and there and I made sure of that so that you would NEVER TRUST A WRITTEN WORD rather than your own living heart!"

Paul Harvey says God is a Father and a MOTHER.
"All right, listen up now! I am your father and mother."

Paul Harvey says God doesn't want the gospel preached.
"You act like I need you and your religion to stick up for me or win souls for my sake. Please don't do me any favors. I can stand on my own, thank you."

Paul Harvey's God accepts the everyone alike.
"...And I love you anyway with NO STRINGS ATTACHED. So, lighten up, and enjoy me. That's what religions are for."

Paul Harvey says every devil and false prophet is God.

"And, I am very tired of your main excuse. Do you think I care whether you call me God, or Jaway, or Jehovah, or Allah, Wakatonka, Branda, Father, Mother, even the Void of Nirvana. Do you think I care which of my special children you feel closest to: Jesus, Mary, Buddha, Krishna, Muhammad, or any of the others? You can call me and my special ones any name you choose if only you will go about my business of loving one another as I love you."

Paul Harvey says there are many paths to God.

"Each has a unique style so that people can find the best path for themselves. But my special children, the ones your religions revolve around all live in the same place, in my heart. And they get along perfectly, I assure you. The clergy must stop creating a myth of sibling rivalry where there is none."

Friday Funnies - Marriage

At the party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger??" The other replied, "Yes, I am. I married the wrong man."

Before a man is married, he is incomplete. Then when he is married, he is finished.

Marriage is an institution in which a man losses his bachelor's degree and the woman gets her master's status.

A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does it cost to get married??" And the father replied, "I don't know son, I'm still paying for it."

Young son : "Is it true, Dad, I heard that in some parts of Africa, a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?"
Dad : "That happens in most countries son."

Then there was a man who said, "I never knew what real happiness was until I got married, and then it was too late."

A happy marriage is a matter of give and take; the husband gives and the wife takes

In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.

After a quarrel, a wife said to her husband, "You know, I was a fool when I married you." And the Husband replied, "Yes, dear, but I was in love and didn't notice it."

A man inserted an 'ad' in the classified : "Wife wanted". The next day, he received hundreds letters. They all said the same thing "You can have mine."

When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing : either the car is new or his wife is new.

A woman was telling her friend : "It is I who made my husband a millionaire."
"And what was he before you married him?" the friend asked. The woman replied, "A Billionaire."

We're # 4 ... We're #4...

Well, Prince George, made the list at nunber 4, we have lots of work to do for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Saskatoon, Canada's most dangerous city

TheStarPhoenix.com Published: Thursday, March 05, 2009

Saskatoon is the most dangerous city in Canada, according to Macleans' magazine.Richard MarjanSaskatoon is the most dangerous city in Canada, according to Macleans' magazine.

SASKATOON -- Saskatoon, followed by Winnipeg and Regina, is the most dangerous city in Canada, according to a recent survey by Maclean's magazine.

Basing its rankings on per-capita crime stats from 2007, the magazine claims Saskatoon is the most dangerous, with Winnipeg, Regina, Prince George, B.C. and Edmonton following behind.

Caledon, Ont. was named the safest city, followed by Oromocto, N.B.; Levis, Que.; Maskoutains MRC, Que.; and Halton Region, Ont.

The magazine gave Saskatoon an overall crime score of 163.23 "as a percentage difference from the national rate."

Winnipeg's crime score was 152.98%, followed by Regina (135.74%), Prince George (126.95%) and Edmonton (110.36%).

Other notable cities include Vancouver (eighth, 71.50%), Montreal (24th, 23.15%), Calgary (27th, 17.12%) and Toronto (29th, 11.66%).

Caledon's crime score was -86.69%, ahead of Oromocto (-82.41%) and Levis (-80.93%).

According to its website, "Maclean's obtained annual crime data from Statistics Canada for municipal police services with the 100 largest populations in the nation. Using 2007 rates per 100,000 population for six crimes -- homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault, vehicle theft, robbery plus breaking and entering -- Maclean's calculated the percentage difference from the national rate for each of the six crimes.

"In consultation with StatsCan, we gave each crime equal weights and standardized the rates to obtain an overall score that measured each area's percentage difference from the national rate. Data from Nunavut and the Northwest Territories are excluded from the provincial and territorial score calculations due to their extreme crime rate values, which are inconsistent with the distribution of the rest of the country."

Children, the Bible says, are …

- in God’s care and protection
Psa 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Jer 49:11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.

- a blessing
Pro 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

- friends of the Saviour .
Mat 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
Mat 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 19:15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

Luk 9:46 Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
Luk 9:47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
Luk 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

CONSIDER - Man and the Hog

The hog in the live state doesn’t command much respect. His name usually means something bad - “pigheaded’, “greedy as a hog,” “hoggish”. These appellations when applied to people are used to place them on the same level as the hog.

However, in the edible state things are different. We talk of ‘living high on the hog” and “bringing home the bacon.” When the hog is alive, he is frowned upon. When he is dead, he is a welcome dish accepted in most circles He becomes ham and bacon.

But the order for man is completely reversed. When man is alive, he is accepted and applauded. When he is dead, he has very little value - far less than a hog!

Man, however, has an eternal soul. The hog does not.

Man knows life after death. The hog does not.

Man today is preparing for the future of the hog. But he makes little preparation for his own eternal future. How foolish!

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world (all the hogs in the world),and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

If man had a right sense of value-judgments, he would consider his own eternal future far more than anything else.

Do you?

LEADERSHIP by Dr. Roy Harris

Why do pastors struggle with this?

Two areas of scripture will be looked at in this article, but lets first look at some important thought:

1- Why do many pastors fear the idea of building a strong leadership team?

2- Why do they choose the people in the church that have the least potential for leadership?

What is it that God tells us about this most important issue:

Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Men that believe God and Gods Word will not fear men, their job, or their next paycheck. They will build their ministry on precepts given by their Lord. The problem starts with the last qualifications found in vs 3.

1- Powerful men- Full of the Holy Ghost. Men that lots of pastors are afraid of.

2- Oh but it gets worse- Intelligent and able men. Full of wisdom.

3- Then it gets bad- Men whom we may appoint over this business. Men that lead other men.
Every successful man in the ministry looks for men more qualified than they. I have said on many pages of this website and the Regions Beyond paper that most pastors lead followers, but successful pastors lead leaders.

Men that only lead followers are not leaders, they are managers.
When leadership is constantly recruiting and training leaders the church will never plateau. Anytime a church plateaus or stagnates it is the fault of the guy called Pastor. He is not doing his number one job, building leaders.
