Friday Funnies - Being Honest

Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken." She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, everyone else in the class laughed.
My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal. I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.
Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was. I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children. So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.
Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most. I told her, "Colonel Sanders." Guess where I am now...

Father's Day Parable -by Al Hughes

A Parable For Father's Day

“It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad…” —Luke 15:32

There was a Jewish son in Luke 15 who got tired of waiting for his father to die to get his inheritance. So he asked his father for the inheritance now. His father gave him his share of the inheritance and the son left home shortly thereafter for the far country. Did this father know his son would fail. Sure, he did. But his son had a free will and the father let him go his way, knowing he had a plan to receive him back later.

While among the Gentiles in the world the son wasted the family fortune on “prodigal living.” Left destitute, a Gentile business man gives him a job feeding his pigs. The pig feeding business didn’t pan out for him, and was left without any options. He decided he’d return home. He devices a “humble speech, he thinks will soften his father by addressing the root of their estrangement—The loss of the inheritance. He’ll save himself by working as one of his Dad’s servants to repay the inheritance he lost.

The father knowing his son would someday return home, was watching for him. When he saw him coming over the horizon, he ran out to meet him. Before the son could request a job as a servant to pay him back for the money he squandered, the father received him back as a son, not a servant

This parable is the third leg of a three-fold parable of a shepherd who looks for a lost sheep and finds it… a woman looking for a lost coin and finds it… now a father looking for a lost son, and finds him! The son attempts to buy his redemption to repay the father, but the father will not allow him to work his way back to the status of son. He receives the prodigal back by GRACE (much to the chagrin of his Pharisaical brother).

The father throws a celebration! This celebration is not the “son’s day,” but it is the “Father’s Day.”

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

Chinese Ming vase is up for auction

A Chinese Ming vase is up for auction. The bidding opens at a half-million Euros. Bidding is brisk and each bidder is clearly identified as each raises the bid by 100,000 Euros. Within seconds, the bid stalls at one million Euros, and the gasp from the crowd identifies the excitement that prevails in the room. The successful bidder is the last one who bid one million, and the auctioneer counts down the bid, "Going once, going twice, and sold to the gentleman sitting in front of me for one million Euros." Now, you are going to have to see the video for yourself. The auctioneer is exuberant. The pace is fast. The conclusion? Priceless.

TURKEY TURNING AGAINST ISRAEL

TURKEY TURNING AGAINST ISRAEL: After vicious, premeditated attacks against Israelis, why does the U.S. refuse to defend the Jewish State?

President Obama and the rest of the United States government should immediately and unequivocally condemn all of the activists who used live weapons, stun grenades, metal poles and other weapons to viciously attack Israel naval forces without provocation.

The Israelis boarded the vessel off the coast of Gaza to make sure the vessel wasn’t smuggling rockets and other war materials to the Hamas organization which is at war with Israel. They had every legal right to do so and were following international law. Yet five Israel commandos were wounded in the attacks against them. They returned fire to protect their own lives. The left-wing activists — some of them with ties to Radical Islamic terror organizations, including Hamas — engaged in premediatated acts of violence against Israel. What’s more, they began attacking the Israelis before the Israelis were even able to board the ships, as new videos show.

Why is the U.S. hesitating to speak out strongly and decisively in defense of Israel, our most faithful ally in the Middle East?

The Israelis have made it clear that they welcome humanitarian aid coming for the people of Gaza, but have insisted that the aid be transferred through safe and legal channels. “The ships participating in the flotilla were repeatedly offered to land the vessels in the Israeli port of Ashdod, and to transfer their aid through the existing land crossings, in accordance with established security procedures,” said Israeli Ambassador Aharon Leshno Yaar, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, Geneva, in testimony before the U.N. Human Rights Council. “But all our overtures were outright rejected.

As more details emerge, it is increasingly clear that a Turkish group with ties to Hamas and other terrorists groups organized, funded, staffed and provoked the confrontation with the Israeli navy. Now, the Turkish government — a member of NATO — is using the premeditated violence as a pretext to build a global movement to condemn Israel. Sadly, Turkey is steadily turning against Israel, consistent with the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecies.
