Here is a very bold Pastor, may God use him.

A columnist at the Dallas Morning News didn't like Jeffress' remarks, calling him "uninformed", and "un-Christian". You can read the columnist's article here. His name is Steve Blow, no, I'm not kidding, that is his name.

2nd birthday

My Spiritual Birthday

Here is my story, Bro. Donald L. Ledbetter started the West Erwin St. Baptist Church in September of 1962. They started in a small donut shop and them moved to the old ‘Max Town Tavern’. It was there that my Aunt Teen and cousin Donnie started attend and it was long till Donnie was teaching Jr. Boys.

With West Erwin St. Baptist Church coming up on their first year anniversary, Donnie had a contest as to who would bring the most boys to Sunday School. Donnie brought Sammy by my house and they invited me to church, if I came a Sammy’s visitor it would help Sammy win a hamster.

I started attending W. E. S. B. C. and on the 3rd Sunday of September 1963 I repented of my sins and trusted Jesus Christ as my Saviour. Oh, Sammy won the hamster and it has been dead along time now. But from that day September 15, 1963 I have ’new life’ in Christ.

Today, I praise the Lord for His goodness and grace to save a lost sinner such as I.

I praise the Lord for sending Don Ledbetter to start W. E. S. B. C.

And I praise the Lord for a cousin, who was a Sunday School teacher who cared for my lost soul.

Who could you reach for Christ today??

I'm not Interested in Religion ...

Email from C. B.

I'm not Interested in Religion ... but I'm deeply interested in the Gospel.

Religion: I wouldn’t cross the street for another Religion.

Gospel: I would circle the world for the Gospel.

Maybe you have wondered, “Is there a difference?

Religions are man-made; the Gospel is God-given.

Religion is about what man does for God; the Gospel is what God did for man.

Religion is a long quest of seeking harmony with a god; the Gospel is God seeking us.

Religion is man climbing the ladder of self-righteousness hoping to meet God up on the top rung, the Gospel is God came down the ladder through the incarnation to meet sinners on the lowest rung.

Religion claims good views; the Gospel is good news.

Religion may have some good advice; the Gospel is a glorious announcement.

Religion is the effort to change man and leaves him lost; the Gospel takes a man as he is to give him salvation.

Religion leads to outer reformation; the Gospel leads to inner transformation.

Religion fails to give real peace; the Gospel gives the peace that passes understanding.

Religion whitewashes sin; the Gospel washes white.

Religion results in a farce; the Gospel as a force is the power of God unto salvation.

Religion emphasizes doing; the Gospel is being.

Religion claims our merit; the Gospel claims His mercy.

Religion says, “Do good, keep doing good, and eventually you become good.” The Gospel says, “Become good by trusting God’s grace and you will want to do good.”

Religion says, “Tell the truth, keep on telling the truth and you will become honest.” The Gospel says, “First, be honest in your heart, then you will tell the truth.”

Religion says try; the Gospel says trust!

Religion says to develop yourself; the Gospel says, deny yourself.

Religion says join in with God and save yourself; the Gospel says surrender yourself to God.

Religion says attain; the Gospel says obtain!

Religion says attempt; the Gospel says accept!

Religion says, “Do this and do that and you might make it.” The Gospel says “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!”

Religion has requirements and rules becoming a heavy burden to follow, the Gospel is the relationship to bless you forever!

Religion can give you something to live by; the Gospel gives you something to die by.

Religions has speculations on the gospel, but God's Word says there is but one Gospel that saves (1 Cor. 15:1-4).

Religions are many, while there is one true Gospel.

WHICH CHURCH WILL LEAD ME TO HEAVEN?

Religions require you to follow their way but “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Pro. 16:25). Christianity trusts Christ who said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

Religion diminishes God and deifies man; Christianity knows the sinfulness of man and sovereignty of God.

Religion may shun the person who turns to Christ; Christianity is a choice to rather flee the wrath of God.

Religion often love-bombs visitors but destroys the dignity of the one who leaves; Christianity is to love everyone while seeking to restore the wayward.

Religion will give a perspective on truth, but the Christianity of Scripture is altogether true.

Religion gets paranoid to say you're bashing if you examine the claims; Christianity invites you to freely and completely investigate it for truth.

Religions often teaches about becoming gods; Christianity reveals the true God who knows no other (Isaiah 43-45).

Religions lead to human books for instruction; Christianity teaches God’s Book of inspiration.

Religions glory in a legacy of their founders; Christianity glories in the cross (Galatians 6:14).

Religions point to speeches and graves of leaders, Christianity points to the empty tomb.

Religion has a variety of “the only true church”; Christianity says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Religions may demand your tithes, Christianity honors your choice as to whether you will give or tithe to God.

Are there many ways to God? It's like a broad interstate leading to destruction (Matt. 7:13-23). Why did Jesus denounce false teachers to say, “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” (Matt. 23:33). Dear soul, what if a false hope leads you to the same hopeless destiny?

The way to heaven is not through religion.
To be born in Iran often means to follow Mohammed. To be born in Rome is to follow the Pope. Has your geography influenced you for who do you follow? The way to God is by trusting the Jesus Christ of the Bible to the exclusion of other ways. Religion emphasizes principles, precepts, codes, temples, and creeds; the Gospel points directly to Christ. Religious teaching is to accept these. Believe and follow them.

The Gospel is to accept Jesus Christ. We believe and follow Him. Is Jesus your personal God as with His disciples?

“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
(John 20:28-29). So here it is as approved by Jesus. He is “my God”, promising equal blessing if your faith in Him is exactly as His disciples. Friend, personalize your faith to make Jesus your Savior now to claim Him as “ My Lord and my God!”

Thanks Bro. Chuck

M I A - this week

Wow

After a week of VBS in the morning and Teen Events each evening, that is five 17 hour days. I am wore-out. Praise the Lord for the 3 saved at VBS and 5 saved at Teen Events, three of the teens were front and center on Sunday morning.

Thanks to Mike and Brenda, we used their 30ft RV for some RR at Vivian Lake. Even with the rain we had a great time. Camp fires, smore, all the stars on Wednesday night and some great sunsets as well. I was able to catch up on some good reading as well.

After I sighted in my crossbow, Regena took her turn. DON'T MESS WITH REGENA.

Regena's second shot, BULL'S EYE.

Back at the ministry, Praise the Lord for Bible Study and Prayer this evening at SBC
