Google Wave Overview

I just join up with Google Wave

Wal-mart from the cradle to the grave.

The world’s largest retailer has introduced online sales of caskets, expanding a merchandise selection that spans engagement rings and baby gear to a new major milestone in its shoppers’ lives.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is now catering to its shoppers' needs from cradle to grave.

The world's largest retailer has introduced online sales of caskets, expanding a merchandise selection that spans engagement rings and baby gear to a new major milestone in its shoppers' lives.

Shoppers can choose from the Lady de Guadalupe steel casket for US$895 or a sienna bronze casket for US$2,899.00.

Walmart.com spokesman Ravi Jariwala said it is selling the products as a "limited beta test" that launched within the last few weeks.

Wal-Mart has been revamping its merchandise selection in stores and online to expand into categories it believes have high potential for growth.

The funeral service industry generates US$11-billion in revenue a year, according to the National Funeral Directors Association. In 2007, the association said the U.S. death rate was 8.0 people per thousand, and that is expected to rise to 9.3 people per thousand by the year 2020.

The caskets do not qualify for Walmart.com's free site-to-store shipping program, where shoppers can buy an item online and have it shipped to a local store for free.

Instead, the website says the caskets require freight delivery to the shopper's preferred address. The estimated shipping cost for the sienna bronze casket is US$99.

Competitor Costco Wholesale Corp already sells caskets online.

Quote on Nobel Peace Prize

“As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, but that America gave him the White House based on the same credentials.”

Col. Sanders Impersonator

Impersonator dupes security in publicity stunt

Colonel Sanders impersonator Robert Thompson shakes hands with Libya's Dr. Ali Treki, president of the General Assembly. A spokesman says Treki accepted the handshake because 'he's a very polite man.' (Handout)

Col. Sanders Impersonator Punks UN

(Newser) – A Colonel Sanders lookalike got a diplomat’s welcome at the United Nations, somehow tricking the security guards into letting him in, UN officials sheepishly admitted. Once inside, the KFC mascot met with UN General Assembly President Ali Treki of Libya, even getting his picture snapped shaking hands beneath the assembly’s giant logo. “I wouldn’t call that a meeting,” objected a Treki spokesman. “No appointment (was) scheduled with the actor impersonating Colonel Sanders.”

“It should not have happened,” said a Ban Ki-Moon spokeswoman, warning that the UN could take legal action against the chicken joint. The stunt was designed to promote KFC’s new grilled chicken offerings. The company’s president also sent a letter to Ban, asking him to recognize the “Grilled Nation” of chicken eaters as a UN member. “That letter is absolutely void to us,” said the spokeswoman. “It has no meaning whatsoever.”

Comment by Bro. Jeff

We know that there are a lot of impersonator in churches to day as well. BUT one thing for sure there will be NO impersonators in HEAVEN.

Timing Is So Important

While here in Jasper National Park for a couple's retreat I got an email from Pastor Al about Happy Sweetest Day. Now I am not a yankee so I have never heard of Sweetest Day, because it started up in Ohio. Now I had an aunt who lived in Dayton, OH for a while and we visited her when I was very young.

3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

- To miss me is to miss nothing at all.

- To miss my church and my friends is to miss what is really special.

- To miss Jesus Christ is to miss everything.

Here is a great Article

I have always enjoyed reading Bro. Lance Ketcum material, Bro. Jeff

Three False Messianic Views Regarding Kingdom Theology

"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds"(II John 1:7-11).

The world population as of 2009 is about 6.8 billion people. This populace is composed of 7 main religions (http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html): (Chart)

1. Christianity (all branches) - 2.1 billion
2. Islam (all branches) - 1.5 billion
3. Secular/Non-religious/Agnostic/Atheist - 1.1 billion
4. Hinduism – 900 million
5. Chinese Tradition religions (mainly Confucianism & Taoism) – 394 million
6. Buddhism – 376 million’
7. Primal-indigenous (a very broad category alternatively termed “tribal religionists,” “ethnic religionists,” or “animists,” estimates range from 100 million to 457 million. (457 million is the combined total for “Ethnoreligionists,” “Animists,” and “Shamanists”)

Judaism (the 12th) is actually a very small percentage at about 14 million (although Judaism is a small percentage of the world’s population, its impact on world history and modern world politics makes it a predominant influence upon eschatology)
.
The world’s three most influential religious groups upon world politics are ALL looking for a coming political Messiah. Yet, the Word of God defines each of these three religious groups as Antichrist. All three of these apostate religious groups are Theonomic in their worldviews. Theonomy means that each group believes that their political Messiah will usher in a political Kingdom on earth where their religious views (Laws) will be those that are forced upon the governance of the world where their religious leaders, along with their political Messiah, will govern the world.

How To Understand The Scriptures

1. Pray earnestly for divine illumination.

Psalms 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

2. Meditate devoutly on the truths revealed.

Psalms 119:97 MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

3. Inquire honestly, with a readiness to do the will of God when revealed.

Acts 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Acts 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

Acts 8:33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

Acts 8:34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

Acts 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

4. Compare scripture with scripture.

1Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The men "may have been intoxicated,"...

Here is another illustration of the results of alcohol in a man's systems and the nature of a wild animal.

Tiger attack at the Calgary zoo
Posted: October 05, 2009, 8:21 AM by Mary Vallis

CALGARY • A man who broke into the Calgary Zoo overnight was significantly injured when attacked by a tiger.

Zoo officials said that two men gained “unauthorized entry” to the zoo around 1 a.m. Monday and entered the tiger enclosure.

One of the men then scaled the safety fence surrounding the exhibit, approaching the exhibit’s inner fence.

Although he did not enter the animals’ enclosure, he came in contact with one of the tigers and sustained “significant injuries” to his arms, zoo officials said in a statement:

"At this point our information is that they went to the tiger enclosure and one of the men climbed over the outer perimeter safety fence and approached the exhibit fence. He did not enter the exhibit, but did come into contact with one of the tigers and sustained significant injuries to his arms."

Both men were taken by security personnel to a nearby office where the injured man received first aid treatment. He was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Calgary Police are still investigating. The men "may have been intoxicated," Detective Inspector Steve Ellefson said this morning.

"I think it is what it appears — a very bad choice," Det. Insp. Ellefson said.

One of the men suffered injuries so serious that me may lose his arm, according to police.

Male Siberian tigers, such as those housed at the Calgary Zoo, can weigh up to 300 kilograms. Females can weigh up to 167 kilograms.
These types of tigers are the largest cats in the world.

The zoo expects to hold a news conference this morning to provide further details.

The zoo lost Khasam, one of its Siberian tigers, to cancer in 2004.

In Ontario, a serious tiger encounter led to a court award of nearly $3-million for a couple that were mauled by a Siberian tiger at a game farm in 2006.

BLACK BEAR QUINTUPLETS

From an email ~

Black bears typically have two cubs; rarely, one or three. In 2007, in northern New Hampshire , a black bear Sow gave birth to five healthy young. There were two or three reports of sows with as many as 4 cubs, but five was, and is, very extraordinary. I learned of them shortly after they emerged from their den and set myself a goal of photographing all five cubs with their mom - no matter how much time and effort was involved. I knew the trail they followed on a fairly regular basis, usually shortly before dark. After spending nearly four hours a day, seven days a week, for more than six weeks, I had that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and photographed them. I used the equivalent of a very fast film speed on my digital camera. The print is properly focused and well exposed, with all six bears posing as if they were in a studio for a family portrait.

I stayed in touch with other people who saw the bears during the summer and into the fall hunting season. All six bears continued to thrive. As time for hibernation approached, I found still more folks who had seen them, and everything remained OK. I stayed away from the bears as I was concerned that they might become habituated to me, or to people in general, and treat them as `approachable friends. This could easily become dangerous for both man and animal.

After Halloween, I received no further reports and could only hope the bears survived until they hibernated.

This spring, just before the snow disappeared, all six bears came out of their den and wandered all over the same familiar territory they trekked in the spring of 2007.

I saw them before mid-April and dreamed nightly of taking another family portrait, a highly improbable second once-in-a-lifetime photograph.

On 25 April 2008, I achieved my dream.

When something as magical as this happens between man and animal, Native Americans say, We have walked together in the shadow of a rainbow. And so it is with humility and great pleasure that I share these exhilarating photos with you. Do pass them on!

Sincerely, /Tom Sears.
