Man Survived a Grizzly Bear Attack

GRIZZLY BEAR ATTACK SURVIVOR RECOVERING IN HOSPITAL**                        Repost from 2000

(BCTV) ** - A man who survived a grizzly bear attack has been upgraded from critical to serious condition in Royal Columbian hospital in New Westminster. Max Tylee is recovering from surgery for head injuries. The 70-year-old veteran hunter was near MacKenzie when he and his wife encountered the bear on Sunday afternoon. The mauling took place on the Phillips Forest Service road near the McLeod Lake Reserve.

The bear attacked Max, biting and clawing at his head. His wife, Josie tried to draw the bear away from her husband. But it charged her, so she ran for their truck, and drove to the McLeod Lake Reserve to get help. Ninety minutes later help arrived.

Conservation officers searched the area but couldn't find the bear. They've now called off the search, saying the bear likely acted in self-defence. Apparently, there are lots of berries in the area, so the bear may have been feeding at the time, and was startled by the hunter.

Max made just one mistake and it almost cost him his life. Other reports mention that Max left this hunting rife in his truck. Max had only walked about 150 yards or so into the bush from his truck, but that was where his gun sat. Entering into the bush with out his weapon was a very simple mistake for a veteran hunter.

How many times have we as veteran Pastors or season Saints entered into the world without our weapons of warfare.
