Dave's First Moose

We left Prince George on Tuesday afternoon and drove into MU 7.31 and hunted and camped for the night. On Wednesday morning as I was walking along just 70 yards ahead of me I saw a cow moose and she saw me. What is did have me almost laughing out loud. She moved to the side of the road and stuck her head behind a small bush. She was watching me from behind the bush, yet her whole body was still on the road.



On Wednesday afternoon we drove up to Prophet River, just south of Fort Nelson, BC. There we set up camp for a few days. There Dave saw a bear and I saw a cow and calf.


Here two hunters had stop to visit at our camp. When they started using 'bad language', I just went to the cab of the pickup and grab a couple of gospel tracts. I gave them each a gospel tract and begin to witness to them, one man took off in less then two minutes. The other stay for another 15 minutes.

We left on Friday afternoon and headed south to Pink Mountain. It was just north of Pink Mtn that we watch a 'grizzle bear' for awhile.


While road hunting Dave saw a 'bull elk' some 1600 yards down a cutline. Dave using a 'cow-calf call' he called the elk within 2oo hundred yards of our truck. That was fun.


At about 4:45 on Friday I started supper and sent Dave into a cut block. I just added the chili to the hot dogs frying when - bang. One shot.




Dave shot his first bull moose, a standing shot at 200 yards.

As the crow flys the moose was .32 of a mile from the truck. It was a half mile of packing the moose across a clear-cut and along a cow trail.








We worked till 10pm deboning and packing moose. Had a can of soup, and went to bed at about 11:30 and woke up at 5 to start cutting and pack meat again.



On Saturday morning we had boned out some 300 + lbs of meat and headed home before the heat effected the meat.
















We had a great time.

Our culture demands convenience Christianity. We want it short, simple, fast and cheap. The McBible does not have the tedious 66 books, but just a few with short sentences and simple words at the fifth grade level. There are numerous pictures and some pages ruled with lines so that you can add your own spiritual thoughts, just in case you get a new revelation.

The McWorship service is all sweetness and love with nothing offensive.

The McSermon is easily digested with a minimum of nutrition and a maximum of fat.

Each McPrayer is centered on temporal and material things to keep the mind from wandering to the spiritual which is often illusive for the modern American.

To keep the kids awake the McHymns are hip-hop style.

McMarriages are performed for folk who like quicky relationships and throw-away vows are the big feature. For those who still hold some traditional notions, there are pre-marital sessions with junk counseling.

The McPastor is a touchy-feely guy who majored in pop psychology and has an in-depth understanding of felt needs.

McSins, commonly called boo-boos, are easily forgiven with fast prayers and of course are soon repeated, but not taken too seriously. There is an effort to virtually eliminate the negative and dwell 100% on the positive.

This whole business is sustained by the McTithe, which is not 10%, but whatever stray dollars happen to be left in the wallet.

The McYouth program is short on Bible study and discipleship, and long on fun and games. It’s designed to give the kids what they want and to teen-sit them so that their parents can go out and have fun evenings without worrying about their kids getting into drugs and sex. McChurch is staffed, not by professionals, but by hasitly hired, part-timers whose strongest spiritual slogan is “Have a nice day”.

This is the church that offers McFellowship, which is not bonding, but just a quick “Hello” with a handshake and a hug and a hope that you do not become too responsible for the other person’s life or spiritual well being.

McSalvation does not have any deep doctrine of substitutionary atonement and regeneration, but a simple human decision or a nod of the head is more than adequate to bring a person into McKingdom, where he hopes to live happily now and in the hereafter.

All of this ends up in a McHeaven where there are no golden streets, but arches that appear over a broad entrance where the grill is scorching and the deep fry grease super hot.

Billy Bray - Praise the LORD

One man of God from the nineteenth century stands
out as a trophy of God's grace. The Savior found
Billy Bray. Because God's love poured over Billy's
soul, he said, "I can't help praising the Lord."

Billy was a drunkard. He used to drink all night.
He dreaded going to bed because he feared that he
would wake up in hell. A friend once said of him,
"He was the wildest, most daring and reckless of
all the reckless, daring men." After Jesus saved
Billy from such a life, Billy had two constant
companions: a Bible and a hymnbook. He fell in love
with the Savior. He could not help but worship Him.


Billy said concerning his salvation, "In an instant,
the Lord made me so happy that I cannot express what
I felt... I praised God with my whole heart for what
He had done for a poor sinner like me.


Once Billy told a group of Christians, "I can't help
praising the Lord! As I go along the street, I lift
up one foot, and it seems to say 'Glory!' and I lift
up the other and it seems to say 'Amen'; and to they
keep on like that all the time I am walking." To another
group, he read the first line of a hymn by Charles Wesley,
"O, for a thousand tongues to sing-" and then he would
say, "Just think, that's 999 tongues more than I have got!"


Billy Bray was one simple man who heeded the call of
God upon his life. By the grace of God, he was changed
from a rebel to a worshiper. The call of God has not
changed, because the One worthy of our worship has not
changed. If we are ever to discover the joy of worship
that Billy Bray experienced, we must bow before Jesus,
the Lamb of God. He will cleanse our sins and usher
us into the presence of God. We will then humbly worship
Him with our whole hearts saying, "Thou art worthy!"

Over 40 tow trucks makes up funeral procession

From the PG Citizen -Parade tribute planned

The public is advised that due to an unusual funeral procession this Saturday, traffic can expect some major but brief disruptions.

The parade will be made up of numerous tow trucks is in honour of Ron Zacharuk, namesake of Ron's Towing and a popular community figure in Prince George.

"Even though this is a Saturday, this could potentially be very disruptive to traffic, so we will have members at the ready," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Const. Gary Godwin.

Since I worked my way through PCBBC in Southern California driving a tow truck I wanted to get a couple of pictures of this Tribute Parade to the owner of "Ron's Towing".

Buck M. and Roger T were working for S&J Towing in Pomona, Ca. when I first started with them. Then as the graduated from PCBBC we helped others get a job as tow truck drivers. Rick W. is a pastor in Washington State and Ray H. is a missionary in Africa.

It was a great job for Bible College student, with some little down time to read. Every call was different, from T-4 ie... flat tires to T-C collisions. Working with Pomona PD, LA Sheriff office, CHP. Then there were a number of times repo-ing cars in the dark of the night for a couple of banks.

I kept my Bible on the dash, one time a fellow was cussing mad because his PU truck broke down. He climb into the cab of truck saw the Bible looked at me, then looked at the Bible again. Finally he asked if I was a Christian. Which open the door for witnessing for Christ. Wow, we had lots of opportunity to witness for Christ as a tow-truck driver.

-The OT covenant continues with the church.

-The sign of the OT covenant is circumcism, the sign of the NT is baptism.

-Infant baptism regenerates and places you into the universal church.

-The church rules the state in a church-state theocracy, just as Israel.

-The church-state overcomes the world and then Jesus returns (post millennialism).


Pauline/Baptist Theology =

-Jesus fulfilled the OT covenant.

-The NT begins a new covenant.

-The new covenant is individual, not patriarchal.

-Baptism is immersion for believers only.

-The history of the church is dispensational.

-The great tribulation is Daniel's 70th week.

-The first resurrection occurs before the great tribulation. The resurrection is imminent.

-Christ return is premillennial. He returns the establishes His millennial(1,000 year) kingdom.

My answer to a Calvinist about sending The Gospel of John and The book of Romans to every household in Northern British Columbia without knowing who is the elect.

Forests For The World - Bus bench

Last Friday evening I took a couple of boys out for a hike at "Forests For The World"


Noticed the 'red' on Friday, hey I support the troops.

Both guys have never been to 'Forest For The World' and they have lived in PG all their lives.

Is there a place close to you, where you have never visited??

On our way home we passed this Bus bench, w/ a quote from Gandhi about Jesus Christ.

Pray NOW - as John & Romans hit Peace River Country

TO GOD BE THE GLORY AND PRAISE


This week, we are hearing from folks up in the Peace River Country of North Eastern British Columbia. Places like Ft. Nelson, Ft. St. John, Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge have received some 15,600 plus "The Gospel of John and The Book of Romans" in their mailboxes.

Thanks to BPS Canada and Spruceland Baptist Church in "Reaching Our Judea".





With the exception of Prince George area, we have now placed John and Romans in almost every home in northern British Columbia. Praise the Lord.

At a time when the president and other politicians tend to apologize for our country`s prior actions, here`s a refresher on how some of our patriots handled negative comments about our country. JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here? DeGuale did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?' A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?' Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, 'Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE... Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously. "Then you should know enough to have your passport ready." The American said, 'The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it." "Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !" The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to." You could have heard a pin drop.

Book Review - The Quest For The Great Stones

The Quest For The Great Stones”

Garry Matheny’s book “The Quest For The Great Stones” is based on Jeremiah 43:8-9 and is an impelling read for all who are interested in mystery, ancient history, and compelling facts which strongly support the accuracy of the translation of the King James Version of the Bible.

Three very interesting facts were brought out by the author, First was the location of ancient Tahpanhes, Garry Matheny , his wife Nancy, and their son Caleb went on an amazing search for the location of Tahpanhes and the great stones, their determination and perseverance eventually pays off, but without endless hours of research through hundreds of ancient archeological documents written in various foreign languages which needed to be translated, along with researching out artifacts in many museums through out Europe and Egypt. Secondly is the interpretation of the K.J.V. Bible of Jeremiah 43:9, Garry Matheny discovered that the K.J.V. was the only translation to interpret the noun “hand” singular and not plural in Jeremiah 43:9, this was significant because it then meant that the “Great Stones” could be held in one hand, something that was not considered by the archeologist who have searched for these stones that were hid by Jeremiah some 2700 years ago. Thirdly with the research and discovery of the Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes by Sir Flinders Petrie and a trail of documentation of smaller stones, led the Author and his family on one more desperate search which revealed an amassing find.
Of the many interesting facts and truths this book rings out, most compelling is how one small letter such as in the translation of the word “hand” rather than “hands” reveals the discovery of the “Great Stones” and prove the accuracy and infallibility of the K. J. V. 1611 Translation of English Bible!

Do you want to be a more light-hearted parent: less nagging, more laughing? Here are some tips that may help:

1. At least once a day, make each child helpless with laughter.

2. Sing in the morning. It’s hard both to sing and to maintain a grouchy mood, and it sets a happy tone for everyone.

3. Get enough sleep. It’s so tempting to stay up late, to enjoy the peace and quiet. But 6:30 AM comes fast.

4. Avoid feeling cranky by getting organized the night before and making sure you’re not rushed.

5. Most messages to kids are negative: “stop,” “don’t,” “no.” Try to cast your answers as “yes.” “Yes, we’ll go as soon as you’ve finished eating,” not “We’re not leaving until you’ve finished eating.”

6. Say “no” only when it really matters. Wear a bright red shirt with bright orange shorts? Sure. Put water in the toy tea set? Okay. Sleep with your head at the foot of the bed? Fine.

Everyone wants a peaceful, cheerful, even joyous, atmosphere at home -- but you can’t nag and yell your way to get there. So think about ways, like those listed above, to cut back on the shouting and to add moments of laughing, singing, and saying “yes.”

It's a Man THING - risky behavior

Some believe that men are more likely than women to engage in risky behavior. While these photos are by no means proof, they certainly bear out the idea.

Warning - Road Kill

After traveling some 5,200 plus kms over three week-ends, and one was a holiday week-end at that. With just 50 kms to then I would be home.






And we just had our van just one year today.

Wore out need rest

Just a quick note on things that are happening-

just finished two weeks of Camp Yes, this was at Point Roberts, WA some 800 kms each way

drove Regena and grandson to Seatac Airport, 1,000 kms each way

Regena and her mother will be on their way to Halifax, then onto PEI (home of ann of green gables)

attended preachers meeting at Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Washington, heard some good preaching,

drove back to PG. over 5200 kms in three weekends

Will tell rest of the story after I explain to my wife about the dent in the van. B-(
