Are Black Americans Curses?

From an email source...

Let the Presidents Speak.

Who is the President of the United States according to the Presidents of the LDS church? Barack Obama is a Canaanite. Mormonism claims to have four scriptures: The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price, and the Bible. Joseph Smith rewrote the Bible into the "Joseph Smith Translation" or the LDS "Inspired Version." (See internet). However, Mormons carry the King James Version, looking very Christian. See verses of the JST near the back cover of the LDS Bibles.

Passionate to despise dark skin, Joseph Smith inserted into his bible, "And there was a blackness came upon all the children of Cainan, that they were despised among all people…for the seed of Cain were black, and had not place among them…and Canaan shall be his servant, and a veil of darkness shall cover him, that he shall be known among all men" (Genesis 7:10, 14, 29; 9:30 JST).

The Pearl of Great Price claims "...there was a blackness came upon all the children of Canaan, that they were despised among all people...Enoch continued to call upon all the people, save it were the people of Canaan, to repent...for the seed of Cain were black and had not place among them" (Moses 7:8, 12, 22). In other words they were not worth it! Canaan was the grandson who was cursed by Noah, and his descendents were the black people of Enoch's day? Noah had not been born yet. And the Bible traces Noah and the lineage of Canaan through Seth, not Cain. It simply boils down to doing the right genealogies.

The second LDS President, Brigham Young, clarified that dark is inferior. "You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly without the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind...the Lord put a mark on him, which is the flat nose and black skin" (JD, Vol. 7, pp. 290-291. JD stands for "Journal of Discourses"). Why was BYU named after a white supremacist? Our problems were never skin - but sin!

Brigham warned that to leave his church, you would turn "gray-haired, wrinkled, and black, just like the Devil" (JD 5:332).

So what about mixed marriages, like the parents of Barack Obama? "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of god, is death on the spot. This will always be so" (JD, Vol. 10, pp. 109-110). Just like the KKK, Brigham viciously preached murder.

Regarding LDS priesthood, "The moment we consent to mingle with the seed of Cain, the Church must go to destruction--we should receive the curse" (B.Y. Address, Feb. 5, 1852, Ms d 1234, Box 488, Folder 3, L.D.S. Archives). All the cursing continued until 1978 with the Civil Rights Movement. And the LDS church faced a paradox while building a temple in Brazil where many are of mixed blood. So trying to gain acceptance, the LDS church self-destructed just as their prophet warned.

The third LDS President, John Taylor, ventured "…after the flood we are told that the curse that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham's wife, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? Because it was necessary that the devil should have a representation upon the earth as well as God" (JD, vol. 22, p. 304). Big accusations!

The cursing continued, evidenced by the tenth Mormon President, Joseph Fielding Smith. "Cain… became the father of an inferior race. A curse was placed upon him and that curse has been continued through his lineage and must do so while time endures...black skin...emblematical of eternal darkness" (The Way to Perfection, pp. 101-102). Disapproval and condemnation!

Apostle Bruce McConkie wrote in his 1966 edition of Mormon Doctrine, pages 108-109, "Though he was a rebel and an associate of Lucifer in pre-existence...Cain managed to attain the privilege of mortal birth....in open rebellion, fought God, worshiped Lucifer, and slew Abel....As a result of his rebellion, Cain was cursed with a dark skin; he became the father of the negroes." The LDS myth of preexistence!

The Book of Mormon teaches that white is beautiful. It describes dark and loathsome bad guys versus the white and delightsome good guys. Mormon scriptures know only two races as it's all black and white. "...she was exceedingly fair and white" (1 Nephi 11:13). "...they were as white as the countenance and also the garments of Jesus; and behold the whiteness thereof did exceed all the whiteness...they were white, even as Jesus" (3 Nephi 19:25, 30). The LDS light-skinned, blue-eyed European Jesus is an imposter.

Evil whites turn dark in the Book of Mormon. "They were once a delightsome people" (Mormon 5:17). "...they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain" (1 Nephi 13:15). "...cursing...as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them" (2 Nephi 5:21). "...whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins" (Jacob 3:5). "...skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion" (Alma 3:6). "...shall become a dark, a filthy, and a loathsome people, beyond the description of that which ever hath been amongst us" (Mormon 5:15). Indians are "dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations" (1 Nephi 12:23). The dark-skinned Indians were held in contempt by Joseph Smith (See Joseph Smith, the History of the Church, Vol. 5, pp.218-219).

Good Indians turn white. "...scales of darkness shall begin to fall...they shall be a white and delightsome people" (2 Nephi 30:6). "...their skins will be whiter than yours" (Jacob 3:8-9). "And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white...exceedingly fair" (3 Nephi 2:14-16). 2 Nephi 30:6 was changed from "white" to "pure" as in heart in 1981. However, the cross-references show the intent was about dark skin (5:21; 3 Nephi 2:15; Jacob 3:8).

LDS interracial marriages and children are cursed according to the Book of Mormon. "...that they might not mix… whosoever did mingle his seed with that of the Lamanites did bring the same curse upon his seed...Behold, the Lamanites have I cursed, and I will set a mark on them that they and their seed may be separated from thee and thy seed, from this time henceforth and forever, except they repent...brought upon themselves the curse" (Alma 3:8-9, 14, 19). Racists!

Alleged Canaanite blood carries a curse as in the Pearl of Great Price. The "king of Egypt was a descendant from the loins of Ham, and was a partaker of the blood of the Canaanites by birth...Pharaoh being of that lineage by which he could not have the right of Priesthood" (Abraham 1:21, 27).

What does the current President, Thomas S. Monson have to say? Very little! Mormon leaders like to brag but have learned to keep their mouths shut about their offensiveness. Although claiming to be prophets, they have learned not to prophecy since the predictions of their early prophets failed. Any true prophet of God should be fearless with answers, but the First Presidency of the LDS church being challenged to debate Christians has never stopped running.

This is to discuss the Obama's color not character. What LDS could be so foolish as to bear witness to families like this that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God? Noting the insults and outlandish claims in the Book of Mormon, how could anyone bear witness to Indians, Spanish, Islamic, Black, and other peoples that it is true - or the Word of God?

The true God of the Bible loves all races. Christ's unbiased saving Gospel is defined in God's Word and preached in genuine churches of Jesus Christ. You can either embrace and defend the LDS bigotry about a preexistence or look for a church that actually teaches the Word of God. Friend, since your destiny is at risk, you do deserve the truth.

I recommend:

1) Validate these quotes in context at the BYU library.

2) See the videos at < www.lhvm.org/ >

3) Read the Gospel of John in the Bible.

4) Highlight who Jesus is.

5) Then believe exactly what God's Word tells you to believe.
