That is, a SAVIOUR.
He serves the name, for he undertook to save
DECEMBER 17
…called his name JESUS.
Matthew 1:21
—he came into the
world to save
—he fulfilled the law, was made a curse,
and atoned for sin that
he might save
—he lives and pleads in heaven to save.
He can save any character.
He will save all his people.
He does save all who come to God by him.
He has saved myriads already.
He saves freely, as an act of grace.
He saves fully, or from all evil to all good.
He saves eternally, placing his people beyond the possibility
of perishing.
He saves consistently with all the perfections of God’s
nature.
He saves without infringing any of the principles of the
divine government.
He saves for his own glory, in obedience to his Father’s will,
out of pure love to his degraded people.
My soul, call him Jesus, for he has saved thee.
Tell all around that he is Jesus, and can save them.
He is the only, the all-sufficient, the omnipotent Saviour.
He saves though sinners are ungrateful, and he saves though
those he saves doubt and distrust him.
He is now exalted at God’s right hand, as a Sovereign, to give
repentance unto Israel.
James Smith
Trust in his name, and you shall know,
Shall feel your sins forgiv’n;
Anticipate your heav’n below,
And his own love is heav’n
