Hast Thou Faith

 Evening Devotion

DECEMBER 21

Hast thou faith?
Romans 14:22

If you have, God gave it to you, for it is the gift of God.

If you have now, you had not once, for all are destitute of faith by nature.

If you have faith, you feel the power of unbelief, struggle with it, and pray to be delivered from it.

Hast thou faith in Christ?

Do you believe that his claims are valid?

That his word is true?

That his sacrifice is sufficient to atone for thy sin?

That he is the power object of trust, love, and worship?

That as a believer, he will save thee with and everlasting salvation?

Have you faith to trust in his word?

To rely with confidence on his finished work?

To commit your soul into his hands to be saved by his grace?

Have you faith in to venture in his cause, and boldly to avow yourself to be on the Lord’s side?

Have you faith in God as your Father?

Can you believe that he cares for you, that he will supply your needs, that he will guide you by his counsel and afterwards receive you to glory?

Can you trust his faithfulness, rest on his promises, and leave your concerns in his hands?

Have you faith to believe that you are delivered from the law, that you are delivered from the law, that you are in friendship with God, and may walk at liberty?

True faith refines the heart.
And purifies with blood;
Takes the whole gospel, not a part,
And hold the fear of God,

James Smith
