I will be away for the next few days.

A potluck is a gathering of people where each participant is expected to bring a dish of food to be shared among the group. Baptist Potluck is where we will be gathering for "food for thought" from Baptists and "food for the soul" from the Word of God.
New from Dewalt
New Nail Gun, made by Dewalt. It can drive a 16d nail through a 2 X 4 at 200 yards. This makes construction a breeze, you can sit in your lawn chair and build a fence. Just get the wife and kids to hold the fence boards in place while you sit back, relax with a cold drink, when they have the board in the right place just fire away. With the hundred round magazine, you can build the fence with a minimum of reloading. After a day of fence building with the new Dewalt Rapid Fire Nail Gun, the wife will not ask you to fix or build anything else.
Regena and I headed out this morning on our S O S (Sowing On Saturdays), after going door to door on a couple of streets. We finished one area and next week we will start another area of the city.
After SOS, we took in about an hour at the Mennonite Fall Fair, a super large ‘garage sale”. Visiting with a few folks there, and then moving on with our day. We then went to the “Home Show” at CN Centre for about an hour or so.
There he walked up to me and neither one of us remember each others name. I said “Conrad”, no it was
Once we got home there was a message on the phone. Shawn had called. This morning we had left a gospel tract in his mailbox. Shawn read enough of the tract to get offended. So he gave us a call to complain about “that ignorant material” being left in his box.
Well, I say. Praise the Lord, at least Shawn gave us a call. Knowing the thousands of gospel tracts we have spread over the City of

Bail Out Plan
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America
in a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man,
woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults
18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that
equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a "We Deserve It Dividend".
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other
company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in
our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...
instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is
being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
"We Deserve It Dividend" more than do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.
And remember, The plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because
$25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Now isn't that a sobering thought!
Thanks Bro. Fred B.
Update from Dr. Earl Jessup,
The final service in Hinton was one of the most impressive final services I have been in. There were around 50 in the service with most of the visitors from the previous nights from the Hinton area attending. We did not have any first time visitors from the area tonight. Pastor Shane Davis spoke on John 1:22, “Then said they unto him, (John the Baptist) Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?” It was an excellent message in sharing his vision for Hinton Baptist Church. Following the invitation, Pastor Harness came to the pulpit and read the motions passed by Victory Baptist Church on July 13th and then proceeded to share with those in attendance that one more matter of business needed to be taken care of. He then asked the members of Victory to transfer the memberships of Pastor and Mrs. Davis to Hinton Baptist Church and also there were two other families that chose to join the church as well. The folks from Victory voted them into the membership of Hinton Baptist. Pastor Harness then read the “Declaration of Independence” formally making Hinton Baptist Church an independent Baptist church. He then had a prayer of dedication and we all sang the Doxology.
I want to thank the members of Victory Baptist who sacrificed so much for this church plant. Nearly 20 of them took off work and stayed in Hinton for these meetings. They prepared meals and also did whatever was necessary to make this church plant a success. Nearly half of the homes in Hinton were knocked on during the afternoons and there were visitors from the community because of those efforts. I also want to thank the pastors and members of 13 or 14 churches that traveled more than 2 hours to attend these meetings and help knock on doors. Some of these pastors and members also stayed for several days in Hinton. I honestly believe God has blessed this meeting because of the cooperation of these churches in this church planting effort.
May we all pray for the Grand Opening Sunday for Hinton Baptist Church and that the Lord will continue to bring out visitors and that this church will be a great lighthouse in this community.
Now, Pastor Davis the work continues as a lighthouse in the community of Hinton, AB. Jeff

Gentlemen,
I wanted to drop you a note to update you on the meetings here in Hinton. On Sunday evening there were around 50 in the service with 7 families from the Hinton area. Three of these families were new with four coming to one of the services previously held. Last evening there were 75 in the service with all the families returning but one. He told us he could not return until Wednesday evening but that he would be back then. There were also two new visitors to the services last evening as well.
I want to commend the preachers that came last evening to the service. We had 10 preachers in the service last night and they traveled a great distance. It says a lot about our movement when preachers are willing to drive as these men did to get here.
Pastor Tim Bicha – Harvest Baptist Church, Grand Prairie, AB – 5 hours
Pastor Andy Baduria – Berean Baptist Church, Quensel, BC – 6.5 hours
Pastor Jeff Hallmark – Spruceland Baptist Church, Prince George, BC – 5.5 hours
Dr. Bill Hiltz BMFP – Came with Brother Hallmark – 5.5 hours
Evangelist Dave Webster – Prince Albert SK – 11 hours
Pastor Pat Hollingsworth – Wabamum AB – 2 hours
Pastor Brian Rice – Cornerstone Baptist Church – Edmonton, AB – 3 hours
Pastor Paul Szabatin – Cornerstone Baptist Church – Edmonton, AB - 3 hours
Pastor Greg Vaal – New Testament Baptist Church – Edmonton – 3 hours
Pastor Shem Daharenpar – Mt View Baptist Church – Olds AB - 5 hours
Pastor Dave Harness – Victory Baptist Church – Sherwood Park, AB 3.5 hours
I appreciate what Brother Baduria said at the close of the service last evening. He made it clear to those attending that we are not some group or hierarchy where we have to do this but that they came because they wanted to see this new church do well. It was an impressive service and I wanted the pastors around this country that we have men who are willing to sacrifice a great deal to see churches planted. This is what it is going to take to reach this country.
Please pray for the meetings here in Hinton and Pastor Shane Davis as he pastors this new work.
