The Bible Test For Worldliness

1. Is it of the world?

John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

2. Is it to the glory of God?

I Cor. 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

3. Can God’s blessing be upon it?

Prov. 10:21, 22 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

4. Is it an offence to others?

Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

5. Has it the evil appearance?

I Thess 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

6. Is it a besetting sin?

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

7. Has it a wholesome atmosphere?

II Cor. 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Hello Brother,

"The Bible Test For Worldliness" reminded me of something I heard recently:
When you are choosing how you spend the spare time that God has let you have, or choosing what to spend the money that God has let you earn, can you honestly give thanks and praise to God for that activity or that thing?

Very good, Bro. Everingham, accountability to God and others is is working out our salvation and letting our light shine before men.

God Bless,
